June’s full moon is named the "Strawberry Full Moon," and will be among the brightest and biggest of the year.
According to The Farmer’s Almanac, the name has been used by Algonquin, Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples, amongst others, to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that were ready to be gathered.
In Florida, the strawberries ripen several months earlier than further north. The annual Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida is an 11-day community event celebrating the strawberry harvest of Eastern Hillsborough County. Each year, over 500,000 visitors enjoy the festival’s headline entertainment, youth livestock shows, rides, exhibits of commerce and, of course, its strawberry shortcake. This year, the Florida Strawberry Festival ran from March 4 to March 14, so the event was more aligned with the March New Moon! I guess no one checked the lunar calendar before setting the date!

June’s Full Strawberry Moon is the last of the trio of super moons. Super moons are full moons that occur when the moon's orbit brings it closest to Earth.
The third in the trio of consecutive super moons will reach its peak at 2:39 pm (EDT) on Thursday, June 24th. It will be below the horizon at this time, so plan to venture outdoors the night before on Wednesday, June 23rd or on Thursday evening, June 24th, to get a good view of the bright Full Strawberry Moon!
The June Full Moon will be at 3 degrees 27 minutes in the sign of Capricorn. This is not the happiest placement for the Moon. The Sun will be in opposition in the sign of Cancer.
The opposing energy deals with balancing responsibility. Responsibilities with work (Capricorn) versus responsibilities at home (Cancer). Jupiter will positively aspect both planets thus expanding the energy. So, you may feel the need for balancing family matters with outside interests such as a job or social obligations more strongly.
