Gemini Solar Eclipse – June 10, 2021
This month’s new moon is also a solar eclipse. Astrologically, the Sun and the Moon form a conjunction. They will both be at 19° 47' Gemini at 6:52 AM Eastern. Unlike the previous lunar eclipse where the energy was in the opposing signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, both luminaries are in Gemini. So, the Gemini energy will be reinforced.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. There are several different types of solar eclipses. The one we will be experiencing is an annular solar eclipse. This type of eclipse occurs when the edge of the sun remains visible as a bright ring around the moon and is also referred to as a “ring of fire” eclipse. Florida is not in the path of the eclipse, so it won’t be a visible event for Floridians. The Northeastern United States and parts of Canada will have a better view. #solareclipse2021
Solar eclipses always occur on a new Moon – but all new Moons are not solar eclipses. New moons typically signify the ending of the old lunar cycle and the beginning of a new one which is how astrologers usually describe the energies.
